Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has explained why not so many fans turned up to see his side beat Stoke in the Premier League on Sunday.

Like it had been in their last few home games, the Emirates Stadium had several empty seats and same was the case when they clashed with Stoke on Sunday and Wenger has blamed the Easter holidays for the failure of fans to turn up again.

“It is explicable by the fact it is Easter, a family happening,” Wenger said. “We’re not going for a lot in the Premier League in people’s minds. We had a break, the last two or three weeks we faced that problem.”

However, the Arsenal boss believes the fans will be back for their Europa League clash on Thursday.

“They will be back on Thursday (for the Europa League), don’t worry,” he added.
