Since, the list provided by Wikipedia is pretty disputed on the account of historical evidence, I’ll add another city to the answer which is often referred to as the “oldest living city on earth“
Varanasi (also known as Banaras or Kashi) is situated on the banks of the Ganga river in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It finds mention in the oldest texts from India including the Rigveda, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. The Rigveda is said to be composed between 1700-1100 BC. And, according to some historians, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, both have their origins in the period between 7th and 9th century BC. That gives us some idea about how ancient Varanasi is.
It is one of the seven sacred cities of the Hindus and attracts huge number of Hindu pilgrims every year. It is also a holy city of the Buddhists. During the time of Gautam Buddha (on whose teachings Buddhism was founded), Varanasi was the capital of the Kingdom of Kashi. Due to its religious significance, its also sometimes called as the “religious capital of India”.
While it’s not necessarily the oldest, Sana’a in Yemen is a fascinating city that’s a little off the beaten track. It has been inhabited for over 2,500 years, and the oldest buildings are 1,400 years old. The city features some very unique architectural ornamentation crafted from gypsum and alabaster.
There is a very informative book about the old city available to read online here… http://www.worditude.com/ebooks/…

According to Wikipedia, there are three cities which claim to be the oldest continuously inhabited city: Jericho, Byblos, and Damascus.
In the notes section of the table, the right most column has information on why it is unclear which of these three cities has been inhabited for the longest continuous period of time.

To my knowledge, Jericho has one of the better claims, with evidence indicating settlement as far back as 10,000 BCE, which means that people might have been living in this same area for 12,000+ years.
Part of this depends on how you define “city” in the pre-historic era (at what point does a Proto-city become a city), but Jericho has the earliest known city walls (circa 8000 BCE) and one of the oldest known towers, which I think are pretty solid evidence of it’s “city” status. You can read about the Wall of Jericho and the Tower of Jericho for a bit more detail about those.
