– After the physical fight and a decision made, the 14-year-old boy took his life after he was directed to take the family’s animals to graze
– Hours later, the 21-year-old boy decided to end his own life after he was blamed for his younger sibling’s death as he feared he would be killed by villagers
A family in Migori County is yet to come to terms after two of their sons ended their lives tragically following a disagreement over who was to be on duty at the family-owned posho mill on Saturday, February 17.
According to reports, the youngest of the two identified as 14-year-old Felix Okinyi used a rope to end his life after he was directed to go and look after the family’s animals. Okinyi was a Standard Seven Pupil at Mubachi Primary School.
Reports by the Nairobi News seen by TUKO.co.ke show that the elder sibling identified as Brian Omindi who was a Student at neigbouring Mubachi Secondary School, followed suit and ended his life as he feared he would be killed by villagers after he was blamed for the death of Okinyi.

Trouble had started when the two engaged in a physical fight at the family’s posho mill as they all claimed to be on duty.
Following the fight, their grandfather had managed to settle the dispute and directed that Omondi take charge at the posho mill while Okinyi was to take care of their animals. That decison, was to later lead to the untimely death.
After a few hours, the body of Okinyi was found hanging on a tree and while villagers were still to come to terms with his demise, some relatives were blamimg Omondi for causing the tragedy and a few hours later, his body was found hanging on a tree near their home.
Migori County police chief Joseph Nthenge confirmed the incident and said that the bodies were taken to Migori County Referral Hospoital Mortuary.
