Nope, a gorilla cannot kill a crocodile, read on to know why it can’t.

This is very awkward match up.Because the gorilla has no idea how to kill a crocodile (having to flip them over to get to their soft belly).

Crocodile is a large carnivore and skilled hunter and besides,an apex predator whose only work is to kill and eat animals all life while the other one, gorilla, is herbivore who has no prior experience in hunting/killing.

They are too big compared to gorilla, growing as much as 16 ft(Nile crocodile) and 20 ft(saltwater crocodile)

Crocodiles hunt in an amazing way which makes up for their slow speed over long distances. They lurk in water or in mud, stalk their prey over just sound and once it’s close enough, launch their attack, surprising the helpless prey which would later be dragged into water or consumed directly.

Gorilla is no exception and might as well become a prey rather than becoming a competitor in the fight,if it’s close to water and being stalked by the crocodile. The crocodile can also roll the gorilla off if the ape had a weak grip or bludgeon the gorilla with its tail (I heard it can overturn rowboats).Crocodile clearly has the upper hand in water, no question of gorilla killing it there.

If the Gorilla and crocodile, both happen to meet on land, unless the silverback felt the crocodile was a threat to his troop, they’ll just avoid each other most of the time.

In an encounter, there are two possibilities-

1-Gorilla’s strength and dexterity will make it an equally tough opponent for the slower crocodile on land. The reptile will also be taken aback by the ferocity with which the gorilla defends his troops. It could be a long, drawn out battle, gorilla could tire the reptile out until the crocodile escapes in nearby water.

2-Despite being extremely slow, crocodiles strike in a certain radius with unbelievable speed, and gorilla might get bitten if it isn’t extra careful inside that radius.

So overall, crocodile is the one to have upperhand in this match, meaning the gorilla cannot kill the crocodile.
