While a good number of Nigerians are currently expressing their displeasure at the activities of officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Police, one officer is living a ‘double’ life as a cop and musician.
Yomi Sars aka Gucci Mane Eko is a 30-year-old policeman who is also a musician. Most of his songs see him talking about life on the streets and how he has gotten to where he is today.
Speaking about what attracted him to the streets, Yomi wrote in an Instagram post that “I was born with a silver spoon but I left the comfort of my home to be on the Street just as if I knew my mum won’t stay on for long……I thank God who led my path on the street and make me a better person.”
A close friend of many celebrities, Yomi particularly has a close relationship with popular musician Olamide. Several sources report that he has attended several shows in the company of Baddo.

He regularly takes part in special assignments and he describes Abba Kyari, an assistant police commissioner of Lagos State famous for his role in arresting Kidnap kingpin Evans as his mentor.
The trending topic of #EndSars is something Yomi is passionate about. He has also shared his thoughts on the issue advocating for a total reform of the police.
