Need encouragement on eating fruits and vegetables?

There are people out there who do not reach for a fruit or vegetable as often as they should be doing. Are you one of them?

If you find that you are struggling to get in your daily dose of fruit or vegetables (or perhaps even both!), you may find the following suggestions helpful.

Pack fruits in your lunch bag

When preparing your lunch for work, consider cutting down on that extra sandwich and pack a fruit or two in its place instead. When you have finished eating your sandwich and are looking for more, you will be bound to reach for that fruit!

Make a yummy smoothie

Fruit and vegetable smoothies are divine and a great way of getting in those healthy nutrients. Choose a few of your favourite varieties (or not!) and put them into a blender, throw in some plain yoghurt and add a little honey. Voila! Delicious and easy.

Keep fruit and vegetables where you can see them

Keep fruit and vegetables where you can see them – preferably on your kitchen countertop. This will be a constant reminder that they need to be eaten. Emptying your cupboards from the junk foods will be a great help too!

Incorporate vegetables into meals

Find creative ways of adding vegetables to your meals – disguise them if you have to, but add them in! For example, add extra vegetables to your homemade pizza or soup. You will be surprised at the flavour and taste they have to offer.

See a dietician

If you need help in creating a diet plan of healthy and balanced meals, seek the help of a dietician.
