Arsenal fans may have already given up hope of having Alexis Sanchez stay at the club, but what he did after the defeat to Manchester City will only go to irk the Gooners.

Sanchez is all but certain to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, and failed to impress in the Gunners’ 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

After the game he infuriated many of the Arsenal fans a little bit more by embracing former Gunners’ midfielder, and current Man City coach, Mikel Arteta.

A video captured by football.london reporter Charles Watts showed the Chilean walking off the pitch and reaching out to shake hands with the Spaniard.

After doing so he then pulled him in for a hug before heading down the tunnel and into the away changing room.

Gunners supporters took to social media to criticise his performance during the match, and it seems fans’ patience with the Chilean is starting to wear thin.

It wasn’t the fact that he greeted the former Arsenal player that went down badly with the supporters however, according to fans who hit out on social media.

It was more him showing the world just how close he is to people at Man City – a club who have been strongly linked with the player in recent months.
