Mamelodi Sundowns will renew their rivalry with AS Vita Club after the two clubs were draw together in Group C of Africa’s premier competition, the CAF Champions League on Wednesday.

The competition’s defending champions, Sundowns had been eliminated from the Champions League last season but got reinstated after Vita were found guilty of having fielded an eligible player in their early stage.

The Congolese giants Vita seemed took the matter to heart to the extent that they even declined to play Sundowns in a preseason friendly match.

Completing the Group C quartet are Saint George S.C. of Ethiopia and Espérance Sportive de Tunis of Tunisia. Sundowns will bgin their title defence against the Ethiopians, Saint-George, while Vita will be away to Espérance.

Zimbabwean champions CAPS United are in Group B and they find themselves in a difficult Group with the five-time Champions League winners Zamalek, USM Alger of Algeria, Ahli Tripoli of Libyan.

Étoile Sportive du Sahel lead Group A which consists of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, Al-Merrikh SC of Sudan and Mozambique club Clube Ferroviário de Maputo.
