The mum-of-three kimkardashian, 37, said her eldest had to work for her rewards and doesn’t get as many gifts as people might think

The reality star, 37, has come in for criticism in recent days for allowing North to play with her designer make-up as well as straightening her daughter’s naturally curly hair for her fifth birthday.

But when it comes to making sure North appreciates the value of things, Kim appears to have it covered.

Speaking to ET, she said: “We have a chore chart, she has to make her bed… there are so many things that she has to do if she wants to get something.”

While North’s parents are two of the most famous faces in the world with a multi-million dollar fortune, Kim insists they don’t go over the top with gifts.

“She doesn’t really get a whole lot of stuff like you would think,” said the star.

Kim said her eldest has dad Kanye’s bubbly, straight-talking personality, but also has moments of “calm and niceness” which she inherits from her mum.

The mother-of three also hinted that her youngest two have the closer bond, adding: “She [North] has definitely been better since the little baby is here. But Saint and Chicago’s relationship is so sweet that I don’t know what’s going to top that.”

Just days ago Kim took North out in New York to celebrate her fifth birthday, but people were quick to spot the youngster’s normally curly do looked slick and straight.

Styled in a high ponytail, the youngster was seen again the next day also with straight hair – this time loose.

It was far cry from her head of curls, something Kim has been vocal about embracing.

The reality TV star previously told Interview magazine: “Kanye always has his family around and people who look like my daughter—that’s important to me.

“She’s obsessed with her curly hair, and if she finds someone who has the same hair, she runs to them and is like, “You have curly hair like me?”

“And we get to talk about it.”

Fans questioned why North has had her hair straightened, with some people criticising Kim’s decision.

While another posted: “I felt so concerned yesterday when I saw a pic of North West [with] her hair straightened.”

But people have also defended Kim’s decision to straighten North’s hair.

Some people have argued it’s her right, as her mum, to decide how she looks.

While others simply pointed to the top-quality hair care they pair receive, meaning it’s unlikely North’s hair will be permanently damaged.

Over the years Kim has stepped out with some very interesting hairstyles.

For a short time she was peroxide blonde, and sometimes still wears a blonde wig, and she is also partial to extensions making her hair super long.

Most recently she wore her hair in braids, when she attended the MTV Movie And TV Awards with her mum, Kris Jenner.
