Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres reveals that club teammate Antoine Griezmann only needs trophies to be considered with the likes of Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 27-year-old who arrived at Atletico a season after the club won the La Liga title, has been heavily linked with a big-money move away from the Wanda Metropolitano with Catalans favourite to land the France international in the summer transfer window.
That move would surely allow Griezmann to lift a trophy or two at one of the biggest clubs in the world, something which Torres believes can lift him to the top of the game.
“To be considered at the level of Messi and Cristiano, he is missing titles,’ the ex-Liverpool striker told Cadena SER.
“I hope he gets them at Atletico.’
Torres’ career at Atletico Madrid drawing to an end the most likely option is that he will head for the MLS over China and the Spaniard rejoined his boyhood side in 2014 after a period on loan at AC Milan. He has scored 126 goals in two spells at the club
Griezmann has enjoyed another fine campaign for Atletico, scoring 26 goals in all competitions – the same total he finished with last season.
