A religious crisis which took place yesterday in Kaduna state has left many people dead with numerous shops burnt down.

At least seven persons were confirmed dead after Muslims and Christians clashed over a disagreement in Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Monday.

The aftermath of the incident also left shops and a truck burnt. Kasuwan Magani is 36 kilometres away from Kaduna metropolis and is the gateway to the southern part of the state, Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue states.

The Governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai has ordered an investigation on the matter. He also asked the security agencies to ensure that all those responsible for the mayhem be arrested and prosecuted.
