Read the books of the author Charles Fort.  There are many “rains of fishes” reported throughout the ages.  Charles Fort collected reports of rains of fishes, frogs, meat, blood, all kinds of crazy things.  He was kind of an old time-y guy, he thought it might be a left over mechanism that god used to deliver manna to the Israelites and it just goes off by accident once in awhile (I’m not kidding) but he also said that science shouldn’t just discard information because it seems weird and doesn’t fit into the accepted scientific framework.  He mentions a time when science didn’t believe in meteors and scientist discredited the ideas of stones from the sky, and would debunk these stones as just happening to be discovered in places where “falling stars” had been seen.  It took a long time for science to believe that rocks could fall from outer space through the atmosphere.  When I was a kid my family was out taking a walk and we found the ground covered with tiny toads, literally covered, as in you had to work super hard to find a space on the sidewalk for your foot so you didn’t crush them, they were all so small they could have fit on a nickel, and we walked for a mile down to the park, toads and more toads.  My dad thought that they must all have hatched out and come out of the water, but why all the same day, and all the same size, and how could their possibly be so many? the ground was covered all around for a mile! Sidewalks, street, lawns, everyplace.  It was crazy.  It isn’t as if we saw them fall out of the sky or anything, but it was the darnedest thing, and it makes me a little flexible as an adult, a little willing to believe when some person says fish fell on me from the sky, I think about those toads and I think, well, Charles Fort said…
