10-month old Luis Manuel Gonzales weighs the same as an average nine-year-old.
The problem is his parents and doctors are at a loss to explain his mystery weight gain.
luis Manuel’s mum, Isabel Pantoja, from Colima, Mexico wasn’t worried about her son’s weight gain at first but the baby now dwarfs his brother Mario who is nearly three years older. The family’s plight was reported by the Daily Mail where the family spoke of their daily distress not knowing what’s wrong with their son.
When he was born, he weighed a perfectly normal 8lbs just like his older brother, but pretty soon it became clear that Luis was different.
At two months he already weighed 22lbs and was wearing clothes for children two or three years older than him.
By ten months he weighed 4 stone 6 pounds and had doctors baffled. Because of his size, Luis cannot crawl and struggles to sit up
Even dad Mario, who works at a local juice plant and is fit and well, is exhausted by carrying Luis.
Family members take it in turns to push him to his 4-times-a-week hospital appointments in a battered old push-chair.
