Chelsea goalkeeper Matej Delac, who is the clubs longest serving player, has admitted that he is looking to leave the club after failing to play a senior competitive match for the team after several years.

The 25 year old Croatian joined the Blues in 2010 and is currently the longest serving squad member. He has had numerous loan spells and has yet to register a Premier League appearance for the team due to work permit issues. Now he believes that the time is right for a fresh challenge.

“Yes, soon will come a time I’ll have to leave Chelsea. Many people ask me do I regret coming to Chelsea so young, and not joining some smaller club, but I feel no regret,” he explained toSportSport.”

Your career can always be better, but I am 25 and have been through so much, met many coaches, players, gained experience.

“The problem was not my quality, Chelsea believed in me, extended my contract several times, but the problem was always work permit.”
