Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich surprisingly invited Jose Mourinho to dinner following the Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Blues defeated the Red Devils 1-0 courtesy of an Alvaro Morata goal at Stamford Bridge, easing the pressure on Antonio Conte and turning up the heat on Mourinho, whose side have struggled over the last few weeks.

Mourinho had two spells in charge of Chelsea, winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and three League Cups.

According to The Sun, it is not known if Mourinho, the most successful manager in Chelsea’s history, accepted the invitation.

But he said last year: “He [Abramovich] was never my friend. We always had the relationship of owner-manager.

“[We had a] very respectful relationship. But we were never close to each other.”
