Arsene Wenger has revealed the one Arsenal player he reckons will be key for the Gunners today when they take on Manchester City, and this will surprise many fans of the north London club.
Arsenal are at the Etihad Stadium for their Premier League clash against Pep Guardiola’s high flying side, and Wenger has named Aaron Ramsey as the one player who could make the difference for the Gunners.
The Wales international has flourished since he was moved back into a more central role for Arsenal.
“I think he is calmer now in the final third,” said Wenger.
“He used to rush his decisions a little bit, in his execution.
“But he is more mature. He is 27, the best age for a midfielder.”
Wenger has used Ramsey in a wide role and he explained: “I played him wider sometimes to balance the team because he can give you that defensive work on the flanks.
“But I like him central. He’s now more reliable tactically and defensively than he was two or three years ago.
“He is a big player for us.”
