SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic will face off in an Absa Premiership match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 7:30pm.
Matsatsantsa are coming off a 2-2 stalemate with Kaizer Chiefs in their previous league match in Nelspruit over the weekend.
Mandla Masango levelled matters for SuperSport in the first-half, while Aubrey Modiba grabbed another equalizer for Matsatsantsa in the second-half.
As a result Matsatsantsa are now undefeated in two league matches having beaten Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg before facing Chiefs.
SuperSport are placed fifth on the league table with 41 points from 25 games. They are five points behind fourth-placed Kaizer Chiefs, who have played 26 games.
The Tshwane giants will be boosted by defender Morgan Gould’s return from suspension, while head coach Stuart Baxter could be in charge of the team after an emergency medical treatment.
Modiba, the SuperSport attacking midfielder, says they cannot afford to underestimate relegation threatened Celtic.
“We are not going to take this one lightly, we are aiming for three points so that we stay in the mix at the top,” Modiba said.
“We are aware that our opponents are fighting to move out of the bottom half but it is not going to be an easy one against us come Wednesday night.”
Meanwhile, Celtic came back to hold Baroka FC to a 1-1 draw in their previous league game with Lyle Lakay scoring for them in Polokwane over the weekend.
Phunya Sele Sele are now winless in four league matches having drawn three and lost once. They beat Polokwane City in their last league win early last month.
Celtic are placed 12th on the league standings with 25 points from 25 matches. They are only three points above the relegation zone.
John Maduka, the Celtic co-coach, is wary for SuperSport, but he added that they are prepared to fight for a positive result in the nation’s capital city.
“We are expecting a tough match against SuperSport because they played well in their previous match and they will be at home,” Maduka said.
“But have prepared very well for them. We know what to expect from them. We want a positive result. A draw will be okay, while a win will be a bonus for us.”
When SuperSport and Celtic met in the first-round league match last December, the two sides played to a goalless stalemate in Bloemfontein.
