Niger Tornadoes attacking winger, Wilfred Ammeh has said top-flights will take the side more serious after a heroic win against former champions, Enyimba.
The Ikoh Alla Boys piped the People’s Elephant 1-0 in Sunday’s top-flight matchday 8 clash at adopted ground, Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.
Ammeh said the top-flight clash hard fought win was made sweeter because it involved the two-time African and six-time Nigerian champions.
“The clash against Enyimba is one of the matches we so much desired to win in the on-going top-flight.
“After a point at reigning champions, Enugu Rangers, a home draw against newcomers, Katsina United and an away win at newcomers, Remo Stars we just told ourselves we must add Enyimba on the conquered list.
“The win is a dream come true and it’s good for us and a big morale boost going forward on other matches.
“The win is sweetest as it involved former champions, right now other teams will start to take us serious as it’s not easy to get a point and win against former and reigning champions.
“Although it calls for more work on our part to sustain the momentum as we are almost a marked team now.
“At least we have been able to recover the points we lost to Katsina United on home ground.
“Our confidence level is quite high we will take the winning aura to confront league leaders, Plateau United,” said Ammeh to supersport.com.
The Minna outfit are 6th on the 20-team top-flight log on 12 points five behind league leaders and opponents, Plateau United.
